2019 Portfolio

Over 400 schools recognized in international “best-of” yearbook publication

INDIANAPOLIS (January 29, 2019) – Herff Jones, an achievement division of Varsity Brands and the leading provider of graduation and educational products and services, is pleased to announce our “best-of” publication, Portfolio, which showcases best-in-class yearbook work from students across North America.

“We are thrilled each year to see our students continuously redefine the yearbook landscape, and we are especially honored to showcase their achievement and creativity,” said Kelly Crouch, vice president of yearbook sales for Herff Jones.

“No longer scrapbooks of yesterday, our students are tackling social issues and telling stories with impact and meaning,” she said. “The Herff Jones Portfolio recognizes and celebrates this new kind of storytelling.”

From the thousands of yearbooks printed by Herff Jones, 420 schools were chosen across multiple categories. Judged by industry experts on various design and storytelling elements such as theme, coverage and more, the featured staffs truly epitomize the student innovation that came from yearbook classrooms in 2018.

This year’s expanded edition of Portfolio is more student-focused than ever before in its 24 years of publication. As a way to represent the voices of the yearbook staffs highlighted throughout, new special sections and features were introduced, incorporating quotes and commentary from the creators, as well as more student photography.
