HERFF JONES PLANTS ONE MILLION TREES THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH TREES FOR THE FUTURE

For every diploma frame sold, one tree is planted in impoverished areas by Trees for the Future.

INDIANAPOLIS (April 21, 2022) – Herff Jones, the achievement division of Varsity Brands and the leading provider of graduation and educational products and services, celebrates a milestone of one million trees planted through its partnership with Trees for the Future, an organizational leader in regenerative agriculture training. For every diploma frame sold, the company’s diploma frame manufacturing division, Framing Success, funds the planting of one tree to help the nonprofit further its mission of a better future for our planet and people.

Framing Success, located in Virginia Beach, VA, is a long-time sponsor of Trees for the Future, underscoring Herff Jones’ ongoing commitment to the environment. Through its sponsorship with Trees for the Future, the company can give back in surplus. For each cultivated tree, Framing Success can produce roughly seven hundred frames. In turn, for every tree used during the production process, the company replenishes seven hundred more.

“We have proudly supported Trees for the Future for more than seven years and achieving the one million tree milestone feels incredible,” said Peter Molin, plant manager at Herff Jones’ Framing Success. “We certainly cannot take all the credit. It would not be possible to make this kind of impact without the support of our customers around the country and the amazing team at Trees for the Future.”

The partnership extends this sense of pride to customers, as they can directly give back to the environment while framing their achievements. From Africa to Indonesia to the Philippines, all tree planting work conducted by Trees for the Future benefits the local communities they serve and changes the lives of the people living there. Through the non-profits Forest Garden Approach, local farmers are trained and funded to plant thousands of trees that protect and bring nutrients back to their soil. This helps them grow a variety of fruits and vegetables to continually feed their families and community, gain income opportunities in poverty-stricken areas, and improve the ecosystems most vulnerable to the degradation caused by our worldwide food systems.

“Being in an industry that uses natural resources to create our products, we believe it’s our duty to replenish those resources in a responsible manner,” said Ron Stoupa, Chief Marketing and Product Officer. “Through various sustainability initiatives, like our Trees for the Future partnership and our Renew cap and gown line, we’re able to do our part to be stewards of the environment.”

The Virginia Beach and Indianapolis offices will plant a tree on each campus to commemorate the achievement. Framing Success has supported Trees for the Future since January 2015 and will continue to do so, taking on the next milestone goal of 1.5 million trees planted by 2024.
